1. What is the difference between a “Plastic Surgeon” and “Cosmetic Surgeon”?

   Dr. Tew is qualified as Plastic Surgeon and is regarded as a highly trained specialist in this field.Cosmetic surgery is an integral part of Plastic surgery training. The term cosmetic surgeon was once used by doctors, not necessarily surgically trained , who dabble in procedures that enhance appearance. Regulatory changes may see an end to the title of cosmetic surgeon. Dr. Tew is a member of: The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, The Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

2. Will I meet with Dr. Tew during my first visit?

   You will meet Dr. Tew at your appointment.

3. How much does each procedure cost?

   At the time of your consultation you will be given a quote for your procedure. This quote will include the surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist fee, surgical assistant fee if applicable, cost of implants and garments, if applicable and the hospital fees.

4. How long will I need off work?

   This will vary depending on your surgical procedure. Your level of pain and discomfort, along with the type of work that you do will also be an influence the time required off work. For instance with the Labioplasty procedure, we generally recommend 1 week off work. For breast procedures, we suggest one to two weeks off work. Abdominoplasty will generally require longer, with around 3-4 weeks off work.

5. Will my results look natural?

   Dr. Tew places great emphasis on natural looking results. As a female surgeon, she understands the importance of looking and feeling natural.
