Lip enhancement creates fuller, plumper lips and reduces fine wrinkles around the mouth.
Lips may be injected with collagen or a semi-permanent dermal filler. The benefit of a filler over collagen is that collagen is eventually absorbed by the body and repeat treatments are necessary to maintain results. Collagen is a naturally occurring protein. Semi-permanent fillers are a long lasting product for facial correction. It remains soft like human tissue once injected and does not migrate from the point of injection.
Enhancing your lips can often improve self-confidence and give greater symmetry to your face. Lip enhancements are suited to people who have thin lips, no real defined shape, or whose lips are uneven. Often lip enhancement can be used to bring greater symmetry to someone’s smile, particularly if the upper lip is considerably thinner than the lower lip.
The methods Dr. Tew uses can also reduce fine lines and wrinkles around your lips.
There will be some swelling immediately after the procedure. Side effects are rare but some light bruising might well occur. Lip enhancement usually takes around 30 minutes to complete and results will last up to 6 months if temporary fillers are used, or about 6 years if semi-permanent fillers are used.
