Laser skin resurfacing provides a way to reduce deep wrinkles and fine lines in micro-layers with great precision until all the damaged skin is gone.
Over the course of time, your skin may begin to lose its tight, firm, clear and youthful appearance. This is the natural aging process. Over time, skin thins, becomes damaged or loses its natural elasticity. Fat, which also helps to fill out the face, eventually breaks down, causing skin to sag and wrinkle further.
Laser resurfacing is a treatment that can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, such as:
Depending on your individual needs, the number of laser treatments required may vary. This will depend on the extent of the problem being treated and area of the body. The effects may last up to 3 – 10 years or even longer; this will also be influenced by how you look after your skin.
Immediately following the procedure you will feel as if you have bad sunburn. You will have minor itchiness the following day. By day two, redness will begin to fade and by day three any redness can be easily covered by makeup. Before you leave the surgery you will be provided with a post treatment programme to care for your skin. This will promote fast healing and help to avoid infection. Most patients take 4 to 7 days off work following such a procedure.
Laser resurfacing is safe. The computer controlled system removes only specific amounts of the outer layer of skin. Both depth and energy is controlled.
